Priya + Eli | San Francisco | Beach Chalet Engagement

Priya and Eli met at UC Davis (my alma mater). I took my first photography class while at Davis, so when Eli told me that he had taught photography at the Craft Center there for 5 years, I was filled with a little flood of nostalgia.

I try to schedule outdoor shoots at either the beginning or end of the day to take advantage of the sunrise and sunset light. The sunset tends to be an easier time to make work than sunrise. The desire for a little extra cozy time in bed tends to push those early morning shoots to a time just a little later than ideal for lighting, but still a touch too early to make for an easy wake up. I met Priya and Eli a little after 8am at the Beach Chalet. They brought their slobbery pooch and upbeat selves. It was Sunday, and cold, but there is something great about being out by the water first thing in the morning that just makes you want to smile. We chatted, walked around, and took some pictures.
