Rachel and John found me through Yelp (a service that I love and hate). “So what,” you might think. Well, after finding me on Yelp, meeting with me, and deciding to have me shoot their wedding, John and Rachel recognized me at a good friend’s wedding (Robyn and Josh). And as the case happened to be, Josh was to be the officiant of their wedding. And on their engagement session, while we were talking, Rachel and I realized that we have a friend in common. You still might be thinking, “so what,” but I think it is pretty neat how often we find connections in our lives that are unexpected. The number of connections that I ended up having with Rachel and John were kind of uncanny, and I am surprised that they found me somewhat randomly. Such is the way of things some times.
Rachel and John were married at the Hans Fahden Winery in Calistoga, which according to the very nice gentleman who gave me a tour of the property, has some of the only caves in the area that are tunneled into million year old volcanic ash. The staff at Hans Fahden was so great to work with.
During the speeches, I laughed really hard. Rachel, John, their friends, and their families had such great things to say about them. And to hear about John’s rock climbing adventures, and Rachel’s desire for security on the ground, and how they found balance in their relationship was great to hear and to experience. Here are some pics. Enjoy!
