Wedding Relocated to Topanga Due to Fires in Northern, CA

Christy and Adam relocated their wedding to Topanga Canyon due to the fires in Northern, CA. Actually, after their first venue was closed in Napa, they found a second venue. The winds changed direction and their second venue came under threat of fire. What a roller coaster. I was hustling trying to find them a venue in San Francisco, but once the place they found in Calistoga closed, they decided to postpone.  Sometimes things just don’t work out as planned.  So many flights and hotel bookings to cancel.  As ash fell on Oakland and the sky was filled with smoke, things felt pretty dark.

Shortly after I got word that they had canceled their Sonoma County wedding, Adam contacted me to see if I was available to fly to LA and shoot a much smaller affair in Topanga Canyon.  I was available. It would mean shooting 3 weddings in 3 days, but I was up for the challenge. And so a couple of weeks later, I jumped on a plane and spent a wonderful (wild fire-free) day with Christy and Adam.  The recently opened Surfrider Hotel in Malibu was the backdrop for the first part of the day.  We then went to Topanga Canyon to the Inn of the Seventh Ray for the ceremony and reception.
