When Laura initially contacted me, she was looking to have her wedding at the Brazil Room (a nice affordable venue in the Oakland Hills), in Tilden Park in the Oakland Hills. As her planning progressed it turned out that the Brazil Room would not work for her, so I sent her a list of possible creative/ alternative places to check out as possible wedding venues. It is satisfying when I can help people in their planning process and share what knowledge I have of the area and local vendors. She ended up booking a spot at Roberts Regional Recreation Area (not a sexy name, but a pretty great spot to have a wedding). Laura and John hired the Mexican Bus to shuttle guests. Cholita Linda, a local purveyor of fine fish tacos and other delicious Mexican cuisine, did the delicious food for the wedding. There were a ton of kids, some great music, and all sorts of fun and unusual aspects to this charming wedding. Keep an eye out for big hair, a first look with a funny nose, altered bathroom signs, kazoos, and a kid in a hot dog costume.
