The architecture, the moody surroundings, and the great food are just a few things that make the Headlands Center for the Arts one of my favorite spots to shoot. It also helps that the couples who choose this beautiful venue tend to be flexible, fun, and adventurous. J and S were no exception. They got ready in the Presidio and then headed across the bridge to their fun and intimate Jewish (ish) ceremony. Beautiful local food and a fun dance party followed. The photo station I set up for them captured some great shots.

2017 was a strange year. The overall level of uncertainty seemed unusually high. There were fires and floods in California, and wacky politics everywhere. As crazy as last year felt, when I look back at the people I worked with and the way they gracefully danced with uncertainty, I feel nothing but love. After many years of shooting weddings and working with couples and their friends and families, I am still stoked about what I do. Here are 100 images from last year.
The Headlands Center for the Arts in Marin seems to inspire creativity. From the food, to the wall coverings, to the co-ed bathroom, so many aspects of this place are touched with beauty. The first of two weddings that I shot here in July, Rachael and Josh’s was a delightfully California wedding. Katie Powers Catering, as usual, put out an amazing spread of local culinary delights with fried chicken as the main course for dinner. A kickin’ Fleetwood Mac cover band aptly called Fleetwood Mask rocked the dance party.
