The sounds of crashing waves and wind, old Victorians made of the redwood trees that surround them, warm bakeries filled with locals, rolling hills and winding roads; Mendocino leaves one feeling recharged, at peace, and contented. Amanda and Dylan’s wedding at Spring Ranch (a sister property to the SSS Ranch) was beautiful, and so fun. Amanda and Dylan were full of humor and so easy to work with. When the videographers got their Prius stuck in the parking lot, we rallied a group of guests to push it out. The sky was epic the day and night of the wedding, the food was excellent, and I had the great pleasure of working with Madeline Hurst from Fern Foot Events. So much goodness all around.

2017 was a strange year. The overall level of uncertainty seemed unusually high. There were fires and floods in California, and wacky politics everywhere. As crazy as last year felt, when I look back at the people I worked with and the way they gracefully danced with uncertainty, I feel nothing but love. After many years of shooting weddings and working with couples and their friends and families, I am still stoked about what I do. Here are 100 images from last year.
These two hopelessly romantic midwest kids with the same birthday who met with in the dusty desert at Burning Man, got married at the Oz Farm in Point Arena. This hippie commune turned organic farm is scattered with redwoods, apple orchards, and veggie and flower beds. The event space barn was recently rebuilt. It is charming and rustic. Amber and her entourage of lovely ladies got ready at the domes at the end of a gravel road, across a plywood bridge, up makeshift stairway, and down a path through the woods. They had a wild San Francisco DJ who rocked the dance party with old school soul 45s. Truly a magical place and wonderful event. Can’t wait to go back. Congrats to Amber and Jack.
